Morning Tea
image: google
So this morning, I woke up early and so had time to sit in my bed with a glorious cup of tea. Listening to the birds twittering and waking up slowly! Bliss.
Today is my last class of university. I can't believe the time has gone so fast since I started in 2007.
Have a wonderful Thursday and apologies for the lack of posts, been very busy with work!
May your day be beautiful.

1930s Hand Mirror.. :)
image: Steptoes Dog Vintage Shop, UK
So today I decided to take a look at some vintage websites, to see what was on offer. They had lots of beautiful dresses, costume jewellery and handbags but something caught my eye.
One of my favourite films is Beauty and the Beast, I love the gorgeous handmirror that Belle has. And so, when I came across the handmirror above, I knew I had to buy it. Such beautiful detailing and its from circa 1933!
It also comes with a matching clothes brush.
Have a wonderful week ahead everyone!!

London Life
image: google
Hello :)!
Have been having a wonderful weekend. Last night was my best friends 22nd, and so we ventured down to Camden, a part of London which is known for being really alternative. We went to somewhere called the Inspiral Lounge, which is a hippy place, serving wheatgrass shots (!), vegetable juices and vegan food, as well as having a dancefloor. Last night there was a guy showcasing his new psycadelhic trance album..... and so we danced. There were loads of guys and girls with dreadlocks....lots of piercings. I have decided I like male hippie fashion, there was a really cute man there with blue dreads!!!
Inspiral lounge also does boat cruises on camden lock (river). I must go back with my friends soon.
Was good times. :) How is your weekend, what have you got up to?

Thoughts for the coming week...
images: google
Have a happy, peaceful, beautiful Monday and week ahead all!!
Things to do this week
- let your soul be free in nature at least one day this week. breathe the air. appreciate the leaves, the trees, the grass, the colours of the flowers. if youre near a river or lake, appreciate its beauty.
- if the weather is good, take lots of photos. :)
- don't get too stressed by modern life. above all, remember the natural world and its powers to heal! :)
Remember...
'The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and G-d. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that G-d wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature.'- Anne Frank

Joss Stone Gig!
image: google
Tonight I had the fortune of seeing one of my favourite soul singers in concert, the wonderful JOSS STONE.
I have loved Joss since she started in 2003, and have watched her go from strength to strength, becoming the amazing accomplished performer she is today.
The gig tonight was AMAZING! Joss is so soulful and free on stage, dancing around barefoot, drinking tea, throwing flowers into the audience, jamming with her musicians and backing singers. And basically, singing only the way she can!!! She is just a fantastic talent, one of the best performers britain has ever produced.
I love her soulfulness.........<3
I was lucky enough to meet her in 2006, and she was so lovely!
And now time for sleep....

5 things of this week...
Hi everyone!
As its now March, and we actually are beginning to have sunshine, I have been dreaming about summer freedom....
For me this means eating strawberries in the sun, making daisy chains in the park, wearing pretty jewellery (like the gorgeous Cath Kidston flower locket ive just bought!), sitting by a beautiful beach.....and reading a novel that takes your mind away into other worlds.
What do you dream of?

My book buying habit and the end of a wonderful week!
image: google
Hey,
This post is very random!
After a day learning about Japanese Noh Theatre, I am home and relaxing. I just watched possibly the worst film in the world (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) which although it has the gorgeous Russell Brand in it, still does not redeem itself. Full of comic sex and a script that an adolescent boy probably wrote....it was so bad it was funny!
So today I bought another book. Yes I confess, I need to go to book buyers anonymous. Its a lust story set in the early 1900s, about a guy looking for a wife.... and then it all goes wrong....:) I am looking forward to reading more!
This week has been lovely...
I am lusting after lots of dresses at the moment. I bought a pretty floral one this week, but I need more! :)
Have a great weekend..

The Owl and the Pussycat...
image: google
Hey,
I spent most of the day yesterday working on a university project...we have to adapt a piece of literature into a play script and I have chosen 'The Owl and the Pussycat' by Edward Lear.
Its such a cute, nonsense poem I love it!!!
'The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea in a beautiful pea-green boat
They took some honey and plenty of money wrapped up ina 5 pound note
The owl looked up to the stars above and sang to a small guitar....'
etc.... and then he proclaims his love for her and they get married by a Turkey and dine on mince and quince, and dance by the light of the moon.
:)
Happy Wednesday!

A week of memories and discoveries
image: google
Hi everyone.
Sorry I havnt written for a while, have been so busy!! Had lots going on with uni and friends... and this weekend spent time with friends and family. We had a community religious festival which involves dressing up and eating lots of food! Good times :)
This week has been a week of fun and discoveries.
I have discovered...
-that i LOVE to wear bright nail polish, particularly dark pink (as my nails are painted at the moment)
- a great book by Ed Hussein called 'The Islamist'- must read for anyone wanting to know about the reality of fundamentalist and moderate islam from an inside view. so interesting!
- that babies laughter is quite possibly the cutest thing in the world, and so is baby babble! (when they cant speak yet.. and are just about to talk)
- that Cath Kidston (british amazing designer) sells gorgeous floral teapots
- that I have a new found love for Alicia Keys and am beginning to like Florence and the Machine
- that sometimes its ok to change... change your hair style, your view and your perspective :) im thinking at the moment of changing my hair so i have a side fringe... (americans fringe means bangs!)
- that i love to reminisce... this week I was remembering reading 'To Kill a Mockingbird' aged 15 in class, and passing a beautiful house by my school. It was cream with a balcony at the front.. a really pretty circular one, big bay windows, a big tree at the front with branches that lent over towards the house and a manicured lawn. I fell in love with it.... and associated it with Scout and Jem's street in the book in 1930s America .
What have you discovered this week?
Love :)
