The Owl and the Pussycat...

image: google

Hey,

I spent most of the day yesterday working on a university project...we have to adapt a piece of literature into a play script and I have chosen 'The Owl and the Pussycat' by Edward Lear.

Its such a cute, nonsense poem I love it!!!

'The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea in a beautiful pea-green boat

They took some honey and plenty of money wrapped up ina 5 pound note

The owl looked up to the stars above and sang to a small guitar....'

etc.... and then he proclaims his love for her and they get married by a Turkey and dine on mince and quince, and dance by the light of the moon.

:)

Happy Wednesday!

  1. Heehee, how adorable! I love cute, quirky and nonsensical things... It's so great that you're studying Literature. That was what I wanted to pursue initially, but I chose Journalism instead. But it was always writing! I always knew I wanted to write - ever since I was a wee girly. x

  2. Your creative writing teacher is clearly more fun than mine - I wish I could do something like this! We get stuck trailing round Goldsmiths looking for news stories at 10am - needless to say there are none...I'd love to read your play when you're done - maybe we should put it on! Ellie xxx
