Happiness comes from the little things.

Hi everyone. So, I havnt blogged for a few days but I wanted to write this post because lately, I have been down in the dumps. Feeling downright sad. Today though I woke up and thought, I don't want to feel like this anymore, I want to feel happy.

Cue happiness coming from the little things. They may seem trivial aspects of one's day but they are often the most important.

Today I loved:

-Walking around in my new 'house socks' (see below) which my dad has lovingly renamed 'the granny socks' and yes, i dont care as they are comfortable haha!

- Watching trashy TV shows for fun

- Reading Miranda Hart (British comedians) new book and laughing out loud.

- Eating mango, papaya and passion fruit yoghurt (i am currently hooked).

- My name necklace arriving :)

- Catching up with my friends

What makes you happy and did anything make you really happy this week? let me know :)

ps- I have decided to use less of other peoples photos on my blog and so a lot of my posts will be written or i will post up my own images. Lotsa love. E

Friday: The Perfect Pair Of Cosy Socks

Ok so this is a really random post but how beautifully soft and cosy do these socks look? I really want to buy them. The second image socks are from Toast! I am still trying to find out where the first ones are from.

How is winter treating you?

Happy Friday

Hes Just Not That Into You- Quote.

'Girls are taught a lot of stuff growing up. If a guy punches you he likes you. Never try to trim your own bangs and someday you will meet a wonderful guy and get your very own happy ending. Every movie we see, Every story we're told implores us to wait for it, the third act twist, the unexpected declaration of love, the exception to the rule. But sometimes we're so focused on finding our happy ending we don't learn how to read the signs. How to tell from the ones who want us and the ones who don't, the ones who will stay and the ones who will leave.

And maybe a happy ending doesn't include a guy, maybe... it's you, on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself up for something better in the future. Maybe the happy ending is... just... moving on. Or maybe the happy ending is this, knowing after all the unreturned phone calls, broken-hearts, through the blunders and misread signals, through all the pain and embarrassment you never gave up hope.

Autumn (or fall) is a truly beautiful season. Whether its walking over the crunchy auburn leaves scattered across the floor, huddling in a coat and stepping out of the way of shiny conkers. Or seeing squirrels scatter up the trees as you pass, while the leaves cascade down, Autumn is always a joy to behold.

What is your favourite thing about Autumn?

Rain, Unemployment and Motivation.

(image:  http://musingsofanothermother.blogspot.co.uk)

Dear readers,

I am happy so many of you have come and visited my blog in the last day. It is so nice to make new blog friends and share ideas with you. One of the reasons I started writing again is because I left my job last week. I wasn't enjoying it and so I left but I am currently unemployed and job hunting, so I have a lot of time to carry on writing my blog. I hope when I do start work I can continue updating too.

Also, here in London its just so rainy. This shouldnt be a surprise seeing as London rains a lot right? But it can make you tired and sap your motivation.

So a few questions on this drizzly day. How do you motivate yourself? Are any of you unemployed also?

Lots of love!

Amelie and Cable Knit Jumpers...

(image: en.wikipedia.org)

A few things I am loving on this Autumnal Monday. I have often talked of my love of the film 'Amelie' or if you want its full title- Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain (The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain).

Amelie is about a woman who finds happiness through doing good things for others and falling in love. At first she is quirky and a little bit of a loner, but she makes friends and falls in love. It is a beautiful very creative and artsy film that I love. I can't quite believe it is nearly 12 years old!

Some pictures of the film for you:

Amelie is just a beautiful and heart warming film set in whimsical Paris. The way it is shot is wonderful, everyone watch it. :)

I am also loving cable knit jumpers. This winter I have bought a long purple cable knit one which I am wearing as I write this post. Comfy yet stylish. The picture is similar to the one I have except mine is a jumper cardigan!

Happy Monday!
