Remembering... 7/7

                                                     (Tavistock square bus blown up)

Today marks the 6th anniversary of the 7th July terrorist attacks on London, in which suicide bombers blew up trains across the London Underground network and a bus, killing 56 people and injuring many hundreds of others.

I still remember watching the shocking footage on the news as it unfolded and thinking with disbelief that how could people blow up their fellow citizens and take away human life so callously?

(a burnt victim helped to safety by a bystander)

So this blog post is to remember what happened, to remember the brave ambulance men and women who helped get people out of the tunnels and off the bus, the people on the trains who helped their fellow passengers and saved lives, those who were thrown on to tracks/road and survived and of course those who did not make it out alive.

May we always remember.

  1. I remember these and it was heartbreaking to watch. I've only been to London once in my life and these attacks took place two weeks after I left. The fact that I could then visualize everything was shocking. I'll be thinking about the families of the victim's today.

  2. Sending extra thoughts and prayers up today. That was so awful, and I know it will effect everyone involved for years and years to come. The attacks may be over, but the fear, the aftershocks still remain, and that's the worst part of it, the emotional damage. Sending my love out to the universe to disperse to the victims and their families.
